Decking is a great market opportunity. Green building is no longer just a fad; in fact, energy-efficient remodeling and renovating is one of the few aspects of the U.S. construction business that still holds a positive outlook in the midst of the economic turmoil in 2009. The market for decking is estimated at 2.5 billion square feet in the USA and 180 Million square feet in Canada, with healthy year over year growth, 85% of demand from repair and replacement, and a continuing trend towards low maintenance premium surface finishes.
There is also a huge market in landscaped patios - over 25 million square feet annually in Southern Ontario alone. This market has been unavailable to deckbuilders because the consumer wants a no/low maintenance hard-surface finish such as stone or concrete pavers. The EvolutionDECK™system provides the technology to elevate a hard surface patio - this equates to more opportunities.
